The colourful closing of the autumn perfectly reflects how my soul feels. The brilliant hues of yellows, orange, and reds are things that bring me joy and make my heart sing. The mist, grey skies, and windy storms are the concerns that swirl in my heart and whip my thoughts to and fro. That as in nature; there can be sunshine one moment, and the next moment torrential rains. Spectacular, but at the same time uncertain, and even downright frightening. All part of nature.
The past weeks have flown by. Happy to say that my neighbour is recovering well, and is taking the health lesson learned, to heart. She is getting help and therapy to teach her how to better listen to her "early warning system" in her body, which had short-circuited and caused her collapse. She came by last week, with this lovely flower arrangement for me. So not necessary. Helping each other is what neighbours do, in times of need or distress.
Autumn has come, and my favourite "fire" tree is in full glory. It's like a glowing beacon at the top of the lake. The dogs are loving to run through the leaves. Hiding their tennis balls under the leaf piles, and pawing their way to the "treasure". This past week has been one of grey drizzle days. Not very pleasant. An extra good excuse to stay inside, with extra cups of tea, and freshly baked carrot cake cupcakes. Yummmmy.
It's good for me to be reminded that each and every season is beautiful, and has its special purpose in life. That there is a circle or rhythm that makes sense of what happens. Even in the midst of storms, or standing in the middles of jewel-coloured leaves ...it is OK and I will be OK.
