It's summer.
A few weeks of vacation.
I don't know if it will be a "stay-cation";
or if we do go somewhere for a vacation.
If I stay, or go; I have my own place to enjoy nature.
What I have discovered, that even in my backyard there is a hidden place of beauty.
It is my butterfly shrub, that is in full bloom.
It is a delight to see 10's of butterflies enjoying it's nectar, finding a safe place to rest, and enjoy the sunshine.
It's like a perfect pit stop for bees, and butterflies. Even the leaves are swaying with the weight of their drinking guests. There is a hum and buzz of excitement. The lavender bushes are also zooming with the coming and going of the bees, and bumble bees.
Interestingly enough, I haven't seen many wasps in my backyard this year, and this has been a huge problem the last summers. We were fearful that this summer would be same....but strangely enough, not one wasp to be seen (yet).
So as I sit in the shade, with a cool glass of juice (or other cool drink), I get to watch this spectacle for free. With the added bonus of beautiful clouds floating by, or bursting sunrises and sunsets to mark the beginning and end of my summer's day.
I am being taught to look for beauty and the miracles of nature right in my own backyard. How cool is that.

Every cloud has it's silver lining, and this it mine.
Happy summer's siesta Sunday, wherever you are.
