Siesta Sunday was spent enjoying a sunny day of countryside driving. Backroading it through little Dutch towns and villages.
Lunching at a quaint tapas cafe, soaking up in sunshine through a huge bay window. Our view was the inner harbour of a little town, that had waterways, locks, and a small dock. Surrounding the inner town is an ancient city wall.
We were not the only ones with the "road trip" idea. The restaurant/terrace cafe across the road apparently is a favorite for the motorcyclists.
It was so wonderful to walk in the sunshine, feel the warmth, while seeing everyone smile and being happy from such a lovely day.
It was almost difficult to get into the car again, and drive home. I could have happily sat on the park bench for a few more hours in the sunshine.
The past week has been with ups and down, happy moments and tears. But it is amazing what a good dose of sunshine, and warmer weather can do for one's spirit and soul.
This week we start anew, and afresh.
