Siesta Sunday. October 2, 2016

Stretch, yawn....smile.
That felt GOOD. What a lovely start to my Sunday.

For the first time in weeks, I had a solid night of sleep.  I have been aching for a night of being able to sleep through.  No bad dreams, no bathroom runs....just sleep. Solid, refreshing and replenishing. What a gift.

I have no idea what could have enhanced my successful night of sleep.  That only variation of my "going to bed"  night routine, was that I had placed a small bud vase filled with lavender from my garden.

It's been a week of healing.  My sore spots on my face after my tumble, are now virtually healed.  A bit of a scar on my upper lip, and cheek, but am able to cover it with some makeup.  I feel presentable again.

Sister had round 3 of chemo, and seems to have a better recovery each time afterwards.  Hoping and praying that healing is happening in her.

Emotional healing for me.  Went to an organ concert in Den Hague...to celebrate a old friend's jubilee of being a professional organist of international renowned...for 60 years.  Still giving concerts and is as passionate about his music as ever.  Since Dad died, I hadn't been able to listen to organ music any more(because of the emotional memories of going to concerts with Dad....) But out of respect and friendship I did go to the celebration concert.  It was a bitter sweet joy to hear the grand music, and to be enveloped with the special memories of Dad and I going to concerts together to hear this organist play.  There were tears, but of happy emotions; thinking that Dad would have loved to had been there, too.   There were musical tributes, and an informal "jam session"  with organ and musicians.

Who ever thinks that organ music is only for churches....should open their musical experience to discovering there is so much more than only hymns, and classical organ music.  I think in the future I will be going to more concerts, and certainly around Christmastime.

My bullet journal adventure is still unfolding.  It is fun to do a daily challenge, whether it be doodling, or practicing handwriting skills.  I find that I am making less lists throughout the house...so that is a bonus already.

During my trip to Den Hague, I discovered a lovely restaurant along a river. Lunch was delicious, and on the return trip home, I stopped there again; to try their dinner menu....just as delicious.  The decor and styling of the establishment...speaks to me.  It is how I would love to decorate my home. Working on it.

Dream on....dreams are for free....It is Siesta Sunday.
