Sunday's lovely slow pace, has also taken it's effect on writing today. I have chosen to be with the family, and enjoy our time together.
But that doesn't change my promise to myself to note what I am grateful for today...
1. Breakfast in bed, with hubby; and pets wandering in and out of our room, seeing if we were ready to go for our Sunday stroll together. A slower pace than a weekday. Taking the time to make a nice breakfast and enjoy being together as a family.
2. The rains held off, until my laundry was dry. I had washed my sheer curtains, and hung them outside on my laundry drying stand, so they could be old fashioned fresh and clean.
3. Was able to spend some quiet moments, remembering my mom. Happy thoughts, even though her death is still so raw and recent. No tears today, just an inside to outside smile thinking of her.
4. Music in the home. A good sign when the family life is in balance. Someone plays their keyboard, or the piano. Musical therapy we call it. Works well. Great indicator of what is happening inside someone, as to the type of music they play. Today was majestic music, with rich deep tones.
5. Baking together with my son. Even though he has almost finished his chef training, mom's home cooking and baking is still loved. Today he wants to learn how to make my "biscuits a la mom". Thankful that things like that are still enjoyed and appreciated, even after all these years.
Hope your Sunday is also a slower pace, to be enjoyed and savoured.
