Short and sweet(er) (Thursday Oct 23)

Today is going to be short and sweet(er).

Because I am tired...

chasing after the contractor, workers, and then cleaning up after they finished for the day. But it is a happy tired, because there is PROGRESS.

Not like yesterday, when it was an inflammable situation in the house.  It was so trying that I couldn't write about it yesterday, fearing that I would explode again.

Everything that could go wrong did.  Half of the entire house's window frames have to be re-ordered, because the factory made them in the wrong colour.  How can someone confuse milky white frames, with RED ??????? Panels were made in mirror image, so the windows were on the wrong side of the room!  Front door, and panel also wrong colour.  When they were putting in the big glass pane for the guest bedroom/my room/office; it cracked in their hands just before they wanted to place it.

To top it all off, the little car from GOOGLE maps came by TWICE as the entire face of my house was OFF, so to speak.  Gaping holes where the windows were being place.  So my house will definitely stand out, for the next while when people do streetview on our street.  Great. Just perfect. And that was only a few of the highlights of my day yesterday.

So much for " short and sweet)...
but felt it had to be said, what upset me yesterday. A final "venting" of emotions.

BUT:
I am thankful for:

1. Waking up today, still feeling optimistic that this drama will be transformed into a story that I can later tell, without steam coming out of my ears. The workers came in, also with an attitude of "we are going to get this job done, correctly".  So I feel more confident in it working out.
2. No rain, and no wind. Mother Nature was kind to us, and to me today.  Enjoyed walking and playing with the dogs this afternoon.

3. My health. With guidance from the dietician and health team, my blood pressure is getting better, and generally  I am feeling better too.
4. A nice home cooked dinner this evening, shared with my sons. Just a simple meal, but the conversation and the comforting presence of them, makes my heart smile.
5. Re-discovering that ending my day with writing my 5 things to something to  be thankful for.  It helps me close and end my day, on a positive note. Clears my mind, with a final focus on what is really important to me, or things that I treasure. Thinking back to the days that I take the time, (or make the time) to reflect and remember are the nights that I also seem to be able to fall asleep easier, and my thoughts are less jumbled, or worrying.  Hope to be able to continue to do this, for myself.  Believe it helps me.
