This weekend is Easter. To many it is just another holiday, day off, or reason to enjoy a family feast with beloved ones.
To others, it is a celebration and message of faith, and hope.
To everyone, whatever Easter means to you...I hope it was enjoyable. That it gave a special meaning to the time off, and that you were in one way or another surrounded with love and hope.
As my family is changing, the children (young men) are wanting to combine their social life, to our family life; we decided to let go of the family breakfast and shift our Easter celebrations to "brunch".
This worked out well for us, this year. No sleepy faces at the table, and everyone was bubbling to tell their latest news, and tease each other where possible.
We kept the brunch simple. Freshly baked variety of breads, buns, biscuits. My men love hearty toppings, so it was easy to have a selections of cold cuts, and cheeses. Soup, and devilled eggs filled whatever holes and spaces that they still may have had left in their tummies. Warm applestreudel, and of course chocolate eggs were the nibbles in between.
For the afternoon everyone went off and did their own things. To work off the lovely brunch to make room for dinner.
We enjoyed farm fresh white asparagus with toppings, pork tenderloin with mushroom sauce, a variety of side dishes and to close of the meal: tiramisu. My tummy is more than full, and even better my heart is overflowing with gratefulness, love and happiness. It was more than enjoyable....it was a blessed Easter.
