Ouch, ouch, and ouch.
This is a "sore" Siesta Sunday blog.
This week was the week of mishaps, and sore moments. They say things happen in three's ...and yes they did.
To begin with, the "lab" vampire who did my blood work, left a lovely "reminder" that I had blood work done. Left arm has a delightful bruise.
Next, as I valiantly tried to recover a pizza from the oven, the flipper that I was using, flopped and the pizza shot off it. As I tried to retain the pizza, I accidentally hit my right wrist, and inner underarm to the hot oven glass door......OUCH. BIG blister there now, but healing cleaning and quite well now. I hadn't burnt myself so badly in years.....I had forgotten how painful cool/cold water over a burn also is. But...that was mishap #2
Best for last....
Mishap # 3
I had just finished grocery shopping. Had 2 bags of shopping (NOT heavy)...one in each hand. As I walked from the supermarket to the car...I had to cross over a tiled sidewalk. No big deal. Except for that one uneven tile that I stepped on. It threw me off balance....and since my hands were full, I couldn't break my fall.
My face and glasses " broke" my fall. Right side face plant on the stony tile. You know the ones, with the tiny gravel embedded in it. Glasses bent, and lenses scraped. Right side of face and upper lip scraped. Hand, shoulder, knees, and pride bruised and sore.
People ran up to help me to my feet. Was totally bewildered, and shocked. Tissues were handed over, and chairs pulled up for me to sit on.
After a few minutes of catching my breath, and trying to get my scattered dignity back, I carefully went to the car and drove home.
That was a grand entrance to say the least. It looks like I lost the brawl...in a cat fight.
It is now 48 hours afterward....the bruising is in full glory, the scraps and sore spots are at that lovely stage of when you smile, try to eat, or even move any facial muscle...they crack open.
Please don't make me smile or laugh today....
p.s. all three things happened on my RIGHT side. I truly hope that my bad luck has now "left" me.
This is needless to say....one Siesta Sunday that I am definitely needing. To sooth myself...inside and out.
in fun:
