That felt good.
It has been a while, since I have had the peace in my self, to enjoy reading a book; cover to cover. Only stopping to do the really necessary things like eating, and the bare basics of housekeeping.
For me, there are those books that you can pick up, read a bit; put down....and carry on. Those are for those moments, that I would like to fill up, doing something "nice" for myself, or doing something productive, while I have to wait.
Other "must reads" can just be a pure trial. Lugging my way through, having to re-read where I left off; just because it doesn't grab me, or interest me. Usually I give up the fight, and put the book aside.
The there are those that don't let go. The books that I sneak a read, in the middle of the night, just to finish the chapter, or to read till I fall asleep with the book on your face (has happened often to me). The books that I keep thinking about, while I am doing my chores, errands, and other "must do's". The books that tempt me to lock myself up in a quiet room, in a comfy chair, with a cup of tea within reaching distance; and a cat curled up beside me. To tell the world to go away, and let me finish reading this book.
I had one of those books. I read it cover to cover, in 24 hours. It struck a cord in me, and wouldn't let go. Made me think, "what would I do, in such a situation?" . A book that I am going to share with friends. A book that will be saved, and put in my must keep library.
I love those kinds of books. My happy escape into the world of words, and pages.
