Today is a "putter and ponder" day.
Puttering by doing some fun baking, fussing with some of my hobbies to see what I would like to spend some time doing. Probably some colouring, or trying to doodle zentangle designs.
Pondering; that is a sensitive and tender subject today.
Today I cried. Cried, because I thought of my mom. I had just been thinking of how lucky and blessed I am; to have a home, family, and pets that surround me. As I looked into my dog's loving eyes, my heart swelled with longing for my mom, who also loved animals so much. Petting and stroking my dogs and cats comfort me, and my soul.
I think I got this appreciation and love of animals from mom. She was happiest, with a cat on her lap, a dog at her feet, and a cup of tea in her hand. Sitting warm and happy, in the sunshine.
That is what made me cry this morning. The sweet memory and thoughts of her....happy and blessed with such joyful and simple delights.
This quote is a comfort to me, in those moments when I miss my beloved family, friends, and pets who have died.
Mom ....I miss you.
