Sunday siesta. January 18, 2015

Interesting to feel that the last few days, I have been feeling better.  The good news from the Dr. certainly helped.  I have been doing my daily reading and quiet time more consistently.  But I have been also doing something therapeutic. Something that I really enjoyed as a young girl, but put aside because I thought is was something that grown up women really don't do.  I found I was wrong.  I missed it, and the relaxation that it gave me. So I have begun again.

But thankfully other people are discovering this childhood pastime, and are also doing "it".  By "it" , I mean; good old fashioned colouring.  Colouring books for adults. Beautiful, detailed, and themes that all ages appreciate.  I have bought several colouring books, and have begun again to colour.  Pencil crayons, felts, pens, paint. Anything that gives colour and various shades of intensity. I keep my books, and colouring materials at the ready. So I can easily grab a colour, and doodle, colour and fill a corner, space, or go for a few hours. Easy to pick up, and also easy to let step away and let go; if necessary.

It is fun, to play with colour combinations, or play with tones, and shades.  It makes me aware of the rainbows of colours, but also the nuances of colours. I make extra copies of the pages I am going to colour, so that I am able to colour it again, but with different styles, or colour themes.

Today is Siesta Sunday.
I am colouring; and enjoying a cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream on top, with a sugar glazed donut.
MMMMMMMMM, this is a lovely day.
