I was itching to get started this morning. Had all my gear, and equipment set up, early breakfast and my standard 2 cups of coffee. Dogs were let out on time, and the cats put out the door. Necessary chores done.
Now, I am ready to get going.
I really can get into doing this.
It is almost as satisfying as peeling, stripping and removing wallpaper.
For me, it is therapy. Maybe in a way, a mindfulness session.
I get so focused on the job at hand, that I can do it for hours. Good music on, and get into it.
Today I am painting the walls of my "room". My office, hobby room, which can also double as a guest room. First had to blank out the vibrant cobalt blue stripes that were on the walls. So, first of all; 2 layers of primer, and then we can think about doing the final wall colour.
Colour chosen, is OPAL. A milky white with a blue tinge. Leaning towards a soft grey hue. With the new window frames, that are milky white, it is a refreshing combination.
A few hours later...
Got 2 walls done. Have to do it in sections. Moving furniture, and bookcases, from side to side, to get to the walls. Once it is done, I can then schlep the huge closet away from the wall (love IKEA....movable), and begin with prepping the last wall.
I love the immediate results that can be seen, after painting. The new colour, which freshens the room. Fills me with energy and a feeling of accomplishment. A reward for my efforts. Am looking forward to going further with it tomorrow.
