Today doing a bit of personal therapy. Making some time free, to try and focus of some positive things. This past week of sadness needs some joy and light.
Yesterday was the first start. We bought our Christmas tree. Today I will bring down the Christmas boxes, and see what needs to be added ( :) bought) and what will be used this year. The weather is also cooperating. The putting up of the outdoor lights should be much easier, and more comfortable. No frozen fingers fumbling with the hooks, and knotted lightcords.
Hot chocolate milk ingredients in house.....check
Speculaas cookies (dutch version of cinnamon/gingerbread type of cookie) ....check
Christmas music/cd's/dvd's found......check
One thing I would like to try and find this year, is a "Christmas sweater".....which seems to be totally the fashion item of the season. Just for the fun of it. A sweater so colourful and "wrong" that it makes me smile. Would love to feel goofy, and silly....wearing such a sweater.
For the rest of today, we will see what happens. As a family we have decided to continue to plan Christmas as usual. Because my mother inlaw would want us to. It is her favourite time of the year, too. I hope she lives to see it, this year.
