a " Charlie Brown " moment. November 15 Saturday

Yes, today I was able to finally go for a normal walk in the woods with my dogs. This is how the lanes were looking, in our woodland park.  It was a "Charlie Brown"  moment and feeling,  kicking leaves, and shuffling through the pathways.

The dogs were excited, and racing between the trees. New scents and new trails to be followed.  It was good to be out in nature today.  The drizzle of rain didn't bother me.  I was just to relieved and happy to be able to walk outdoors for a bit.  Refreshed, and able to breathe deeply the autumn spices of mother nature.

During my walk, I was able to resolve some things I have been struggling with. Re-think my approach to problems and situations that I would like to see and feel that will change. Just the basic realisation that the only thing I have any "control"  over, are my actions, and re-actions to situations and feelings. I can only state and make clear as to what I am feeling, and what my needs are. Not to expect my partner to ESP my thoughts and desires. Still a mistake that I make (often) even after 35 years of being together.  Together does not mean we can "mind meld" ....

Also did something to help myself, and others.  I had boxes full of old books, that I had read (never have re-read a book twice...except for "Christie"  by Catherine Marshall).  My collection had grown over 28 years.  Several moves later and many bookshelves since, I decided to share my books with others who may enjoy them as much as I had.  I found a society that sells used books.  50% of the  bookprice and sales go to good causes that I also support.  So that made me feel twice as happy.  As a booklover it is an expensive hobby to buy new books every time.  But if we can make books affordable for everyone, and recycle them...we are helping each other and nature.

As the fog crawled back over the countryside this late afternoon it signals that the days are getting shorter, and the lights come on earlier.  Once at home, I curled up with a lovely mulled wine, and read for a while. Comfort food for dinner this evening, and snuggling into my comfy chair.

a good day.
