Woke up to sunshine. That is always a good start. Let the dogs out and done, then had some time to enjoy breakfast, cup of coffee, and the newspaper. Just folded the paper shut, and a friend arrives unexpectedly for a chat, and a cup of tea. Ok, I admit; I was in my " comfy putter around house no one sees me clothes"; but a cup of tea with a friend and a chat are always welcome. We spent the morning together. I did get properly dressed, and we took ourselves and the dogs for a walk in the woods. Everyone enjoyed and benefitted from this adventure.
Rest of the day, was spent doing a blitz of cleaning in the house. Feels better, and less like a reno site.
Made my "battle plan" for the big blitz of working crews this coming Friday and Saturday. So I can let go of that for a few days.
Now I have some time and energy to begin to decorate and prepare the guest room/my room/office. Bought a lovely metal antique looking bed, that I hope to make into a daybed/lounge chair by adding lots of big cuddly pillows for the sides and backrest.
Thinking about a beach, driftwood, sand, sea and sky colours. Love Pinterest for getting ideas.
It has been a lovely day.
So grateful for:
1. Unexpected visits from dear friends. Feel comfortable and don't need to dress up, to welcome them. Door is open 24-7, and coffee or tea ready.
2. Living so close to the woods. On days like today, even a small walk, does a world of good.
3. Hearing that a wrong has been made right again. That when people work together to help each other, it does have effect. That every little bit of effort does make the difference. "Gwen" I am thrilled that people will be helped again, fed and loved. Congrads on this huge success for the community there !
4. The care and love from my pets. How they instinctively come to me, and force me to slow down, when I am starting to spin into a tizzy or get stressed. Literally, they stand in front of me, or crawl onto my lap, or keep tapping me, to get my attention.
Again today, my dog's repeated nose tapping, made me realize that I was edging on a migraine from being too busy. Thanks Summer for guarding me, and looking after me.
5. Looking forward to a nice hot bath, and to snuggle into my bed this evening. Happily tired.
